Extract PDF Pages Online Free: Keep Just the Pages You Need

Free, private, right in your browser.

Pick the pages you want from a PDF and save them as a new file, or as one file per page. Your original stays as it was. Free, open source, and your file stays on your device.

Private. Files never leave your device.

Open a different file?

This closes the current PDF. It stays in your recent files with everything you've done, so you can come back to it from the home page.

Clear all files?

This empties the list and the order you put it in. Nothing is removed from your device.

Turn on airplane mode and give it a try. It still works.

How to extract pages from a PDF online for free

Pull a chapter, a receipt or a single signature page out of a longer PDF, right in your browser. You choose the pages, and they come out as a new PDF in their original order.

  1. 1Open your PDF. Select the PDF you want pages from, or drag it into the tool. Every page appears in a grid, all of them included to begin with.
  2. 2Pick the pages to keep. Type them in the Pages box, like 2-4, 9 or 8- for page 8 to the end, or tap Skip all and bring back just the ones you want with the eye button on each page. The preview shows what is in and what is left out.
  3. 3Check them over. Open any page larger to be sure it is the right one, and rotate it if it came out sideways. The new file keeps the rotation.
  4. 4Download your new PDF. Tap Download 1 PDF for all the pages together, or choose One PDF per page and tap Download N PDFs. The file is built while you choose, so it is ready when you are.

Free for everyone

Extract pages from as many PDFs as you like, with no watermark or page caps. Because it runs on your device, there's nothing to upload and no usage to ration. Want to break a whole document into many files instead? Split PDF is the same tool, set up for that. And if it is easier to name the pages you do not want, Remove PDF Pages drops them and keeps the rest of the document.

It's open source under the MIT license, so anyone can read the code, fork it on GitHub, or share it. Simple PDF tools should be free for everyone.

Got questions?

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract pages from a PDF for free?

Open the PDF, type the pages you want in the Pages box (or skip the others with the eye button on each page), and tap Download. The pages you picked arrive as a new PDF. It is free, with no signup and no watermark.

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. Nothing is uploaded. The tool runs on your device, in your browser, and your file never leaves it, which is a comfort when the pages are a contract, a medical letter or an ID. There is no processing server. For offline use, install PDkef and let its required assets load while connected.

How do I write which pages to extract?

Separate pages with commas and use a dash for a range: 3 is one page, 2-4 is pages 2 to 4, and 1-3, 5, 8- is pages 1 to 3, page 5, and page 8 to the end. A range with nothing before the dash, like -4, means the first page to page 4. Pages always come out in their original order, and a page number past the end of the document shows a message under the box instead of guessing.

Does extracting change my original PDF?

No. The tool reads your file and builds a new one from the pages you picked, so the original is untouched. The new file is named extracted_ followed by the original name, and you can click the name above the pages to change it before you download.

Can I save each extracted page as its own file?

Yes. Choose One PDF per page instead of One PDF, and each page you picked becomes a separate file named after the original with the page number added, like report-page-3.pdf. You get one download per page.

Can I rotate or look at a page before I extract it?

Yes. Every page can be opened larger, and each one has a Rotate button for pages that came out sideways. The rotation is saved into the extracted file. Undo and Redo are there if you change your mind about a pick.

Can I compress or sign the pages I extracted?

Yes. With One PDF chosen, the Compress and Sign buttons open the extracted pages in those tools on your device, with nothing to open again. That is handy when a portal wants a smaller file or a form page needs your signature.

What if my PDF has a password?

A protected PDF shows an Unlock button instead of its pages. Unlock takes the protection off on your device, and then you can pick your pages.
